John "Lick" Daghita's alleged involvement in digital asset theft has deepened with revelations about his family ties. Onchain investigator ZachXBT uncovered that Daghita's father, Dean Daghita, owns CMDSS—a Virginia-based IT firm holding an active U.S. government contract. The company assists the U.S. Marshals Service in managing seized cryptocurrencies.

The connection raises suspicions of privileged access. While direct evidence remains elusive, the timing aligns with multiple high-value crypto thefts from government wallets. "It’s not just about hacking skills—it’s about who you know," remarked a blockchain analyst, speaking on condition of anonymity.

No arrests have been made, but blockchain forensics suggest sophisticated operations. The case underscores systemic vulnerabilities in custodial management of seized crypto assets.
